For the Wright Museum’s 60th anniversary, I created a visual identity that leans into quilt-making as a storytelling device. With only a handful of archival photos to work with, I built the campaign through digital collage—mixing patterns, textures, and little symbolic Easter eggs (like the drinking gourd constellation) to tie everything back to African American history.
The palette? Jewel tones the client loved.
The type? A historical slab serif that gives it that print-heritage vibe.
The goal? Make the anniversary feel rich, meaningful, and future-focused—even with limited assets.
In the end, the system brought past, present, and future together in a way that helped re-engage the Detroit community with the museum’s mission. Big story, small details, lots of heart.
